Caesar Salad was invented in America some 75 years ago. Exceedingly popular in Britain and so easy to make at home. Arrange chilled torn crisp Romaine or Cos leaves in a bowl. Add toasted croutons, Mary Berry's Caesar Dressing, and fresh parmesan. Snipped anchovies and crispy bacon can be added too. Toss the salad and serve at once. This Caesar Dressing is also the perfect sauce for pasta, just add chopped fresh parsely or chives.

Mary Berry

Mary Berry is one of UK’s best-known and respected cookery writers, a TV cook and Aga expert. Throughout the years, Mary has established her style as “family food”, with practical healthy recipes containing lots of fresh ingredients. In 1994 Mary and her daughter Annabel launched their Original Family Recipe Salad Dressing quickly followed by Mary Berry’s Special Mustard Dressing. The products, which were originally sold at Mary’s Aga Workshops in the early 90s, proved such a success that they decided to sell them nationwide. For the mother and daughter team it was about “delivering top quality dressings and sauces, using the very best ingredients, with taste being the most important aspect”. The products are GM free, 100% vegetarian, contains free-range eggs and no artificial flavorings or preservatives.

Gluten-Free - These products all carry an on-pack claim stating that they are gluten free.

Ethical - To classify as ethical all of these products have had to meet Joshua’s own strict ethical criteria, meaning we consider them to be ethically produced.

Biodynamic - Biodynamic products are those that have been produced using biodynamic methods. More information on biodynamic agriculture .

Local - Local products have all been produced in Devon or within one hour of our store.

Wheat-Free - These products all claim they are wheat free on their packaging

Joshua’s - These products are all either Joshua’s branded, or made by our chef and his team here on site.
